MARCH 29 & 30, 2019

THEATRE AT TOWER GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH, 4257 Magnolia Ave, St. Louis / DIRECTED BY GARY LONG / Book by JAMES LAPINE / Music & LYRICS by STEPHEN SONDHEIM

The Brothers Grimm hit the stage with Into the Woods, an epic, Tony-Award-winning fairytale with about wishes, family and the choices we make. Follow a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.

The thought behind the interpretations and the execution on stage were always impressive. The level of achievement was so consistent...a very enjoyable Into the Woods.
